Steps for Pets is a family-friendly, pet-friendly fundraising walk in support of local charities that care for animals. Join us on June 13, 2026, and take meaningful steps to make a difference in the lives of animals in our communities.
The Burlington Humane Society is a non-profit organization that relies entirely on the generosity of our community. We are dedicated to helping stray and abandoned animals in Burlington by providing them with care, compassion, and a second chance at life.
Our mission is to improve the quality of life and welfare for animals in our community, offer a safe haven while they await their forever homes, and help make Burlington a more humane city for all animals.
We are also a valuable resource to the community, offering a variety of programs and services including the Burlington Humane Kids Club, Pet Therapy, Pet First Aid, and the Burlington Humane Podcast.
Each year, we successfully place hundreds of dogs and cats into loving homes. What sets us apart is the individualized care we provide—something larger shelters are often unable to offer. At Burlington Humane, every animal matters. We take the time to ensure each one receives the attention, medical care, and love they deserve while they wait for their new family.
Free parking is available in our Burlington Humane parking lot and on the street. However, participants are encouraged to take public transportation. Burlington Transit, Bus #1 goes right past Bulrington Humane.
Our route will walk from Burlington Humane (740 Griffith Court), south to Fairview and west on Fairview street for 1 km. We will then turn around and return to Burlington Humane. The rest stop will be on Fairview street, just before Walkers Line.
For those walking the 1km, the turn around point is at Arby's.
